You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...

…when you get back to school you are telling time by how long it is until kickoff.
…when your remind every person on your team you run into during school how long it is until kickoff.

…when you know exactly what your teammate’s going to say today, and make sure you don’t run into them.
…when you open your mouth and say “five”…and your teammate cuts you off with “I know.”

…when you notice that all the blue alliance banners in our signatures are not showing up.
…when you discover that the blue alliance is down and start frantically wondering why.
…when you become very happy when tba is back up 6 hours later.

Oh countdowns. Theres just soomething magical about watching time melt away to some of your favorite days of the year.

Probably already been said but:
-when the KOP is like a late Christmas present
-When February Break (for schools that have it) isnt really a break, because it’s almost ship date
-when you spend your spare time watching the game animations from prior seasons

When you get instant email notification on this thread.

… you have a countdown on your phone/computer till kickoff, and the world finals were yesterday.

…when you’ve been listening to sandstorm in a loop for the last hour and are not tired of it yet.

…when you feel bad for the teammates that cant avoid you because they are in your classes.

Thats a good one! I think every single team member is sick of my excitement, let alone the ones that have some classes with me!

I’m glad I’m not the only one - I love that song!

How Darude of you, Kevin. Safety glasses on during the storm? Amplifier turned up to “11?” dit-dit-dit-dit-dit dit-dit-dit-dah! Good thing CDs rarely wear out. The ones in my car’s player would be in a frazzle. I know the track numbers for Sandstorm on all the disks in the changer. I’m wondering how to explain the burned out speakers to the auto audio specialty shop before the season ends.

you read this whole thread. BTW 4 days

the only time you get to see your girlfriend from Jan-April is during robotics meetings, and you will be spending your 6th month anniversary together at Championships

when your girlfriend knows that she will not see you out of school for at least 6 weeks.

.you hear an add for Sprint 4g and when it says FIRST constantly you want to yell at it cause its not first FIRST is first
.you run up and down the halls at school during the day finding fellow robotics nerds and telling them the second game hint then jump up and down and hug and scream.
. when you look forward to being anti-social for 6 weeks
.when you spend a better part of your machine shop class on chief delphi
. when your surgeries are scheduled around robotics
. when all you want for christmas is the new rule book

…when all you want for christmas is the new rule book AND the new password.

…When all you want for Christmas is just the new password so you can use it in figuring out the hints but not spoil the answers before the encrypted manual is released

When you read this thread.

I put one on the main page of our team’s website (I’m the webmaster). After kickoff it will automatically change to ship day.

When several of your team’s mentors, along with one third of the entire student body of Kettering University, design your schedule so that you don’t have ANY classes during build season. Or at least those mentors have overdosed on FIRST, not necessarily you.

…a mentor from Lockheed Martin comes to a pre-season meeting and mentions how everyone at the company has been talking about the test chassis you’ve been completing over the past month.

Anniversary at Championships? AWWW!

…when your dad says he would expect you to get married at some techie place ‘like the Georgia Dome’.

…when you hang out with a couple of first-year team members for an hour after the meeting ends, reminiscing about past FRC seasons and listening to them planning how to build a box-stacking robot [they would seize on that idea…].

…when kickoff is starting to look like a huge reunion.

…You feel the need to be down in your shop all the time, even if your not doing anything (I see to be down there every chance I get)
