You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...

I don’t know if this was mentioned but…

…you’re upset that you can’t arrange your college schedule to volunteer all three days at a FIRST Regional competition.

This was me this semester. :frowning:

When you use your spring break to volunteer or mentor all FOUR days (Wed. setup, Thurs.-Sat. mentor, Sat. takedown). (I can’t make it to either of the closest regionals to college–but L.A. was during spring break.)

–When you’re on a school trip and you’re doing FF scoring every spare minute you have battery power on your laptop.

–When you think you’ve identified all the FIRSTers and former/would-be FIRSTers on campus.

-WHEN YOU LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND BECOME TERRIFIED BECAUSE YOUR HAIR IS NOT THE COLOR OF THE DIE YOU PUT IN IT AT THE COMPOTITION

When you are sitting here on cheifdelphi instead of using the school computer for “work-related” use

When you are up till 4 in the morning making team badges to give out to other teams

When you lie to your track coach about why you’re not coming to practice tomorrow because you want to go to ONE robotics meeting in four weeks, and whenever you tell him the truth he lays a guilt trip on you, making you feel guilty for going to robotics (which I shouldn’t cause I’m not needed at track as much as Robotics).

When you spend twice as much time on Robotics and getting ideas for next year written and typed to show tomorrow to the team than your homework.

When you have a university exam tommorow worth 40%, which you haven’t been to a single lecture, and haven’t started studying… but your still on chiefdelphi =S

You take a nap and dream about the results of the FTC world competition (just happened)

…When you know that you’re going to spend every minute off of (and even possibly during) school watching Atlanta

…When you have dreams about your robot breaking down.

…When you go to other sporting events and start critizsizing how lame it is compared to a regional.

…When your security blanket is your safety glasses.

…When You start looking for welds in everyday places. (but that might just be a welder thing…)

First thing you do in the morning is check for new post on CD and no matter how late at night or how tired you are you just have to recheck CD before going to bed.

You wake up at night and just have to check for new post! :stuck_out_tongue:

Robotics is WAY more important and/or fun than Track (and I’m team captain of my school’s track team…:P)

When you say about 4 sentences at a college open house and become known as “the robotics girl”

When you nearly cheer at a college open house because the first item on the list of things your entering class has done is “FIRST Robotics.”

When you come home from school and get on CD, then realize (two hours later) that you’re still on CD…and you’re leaving for Atlanta tomorrow and need to do homework…

you don’t study for a huge exam until 3:00 AM becuase you are on CD.
you order an Asus EEE pc just for scouting and as an excuse to buy one

When you would wait have post number 1114 but are too impatient to wait because you want to read all the other threads :frowning:

When u get post 1114 XD

When you see 1113 replies and think “Hey, that’ll be the 1114th post in that thread!”

P.S. Man, are we ever geeks sometimes.

When bored:

-With a computer: you dream up projects for your programming team to work on during the summer (maybe just a programming team captain thing)

-With a cellphone: you go to YouTube (love sprint) and search for the newest videos tagged with ‘robot’ (latest finds: one (toyota sometimes scarily amazes me), two (yes, it’s a pneumatically actuated rubik’s cube solver), three (self repairing chair))

-With yourself: you play around with physics and calculus to see what interesting relationships you can stumble accross.

When ever you automatically capitalize FIRST when doing essays when you are not talking about FIRST

when you realize you missed post 1114

when you tell a member of their team, to post on their number

When you’re desperate for text messages from teams in Atlanta, because you want to know what’s going on and your parents won’t let you skip school.

You plan a robotics demo the Friday of Atlanta just so you can stay in your teachers room for an extra hour after watching matches.

You start planning how to make a robo prom dress for next year

You “ban” your self from CD until Atlanta is over, only to find your self posting on this thread…

when you chant green alliance when eating dinner in medieval times.

when you were looking through college info online and found yourself on cd:confused:
