I was just wondering what type of place most people would prefer to live in. I would love to live in a big city. I could never live north of Atlanta though because it gets too cold.
I did not see house in a large city as an option. I live in a house in the Los Angeles area about 1/3 mile from the Pacific Ocean. It had great weather all year long. I could never imagine living anywhere other than LA.
A castle. In Scotland or Ireland. Castles for Sale
Of course, the British ones are the most expensive and a lot of them have restrictions on whether or not they can be sold to foreigners, so I might have to settle for a castle on the Mediterranean instead.
I grew up in a big city (well, okay, Baltimore is not that big), and I hated it. Too many people, too much crime, very expensive to own a car, rats being the most exotic wildlife… So I went to college in a small town, staying there into the summer. Small town, closes at sundown, everyone know’s your business, job market not so good unless you commute… I guess what I live in now is suburbia and it’s okay, though there are too many pretentious people, and it’s getting more and more crowded…

I really like the looks of this house (located in Oconomowoc, WI - only about 1/2 mile away from Ricky Q’s house, if that! :p)
Ok ok, so that house is a little large, and just a tad pricey! In reality, I like where I live. Appleton is a big enough city (70,000 people) but not it’s not too big. I’d like to live in Appleton or at least somewhere in the Fox Cities. But Oconomowoc wouldn’t be all that bad!!

i used to live in woodstock, yes, the woodstock, NY (except that the concerts weren’t even held there, but that’s another story…), and even though I moved when I was only 6 or 7, I still love going back up state.
it’s not because there’s less people, more that there’s more nature. i love going hiking and biking, and i love going up the large hills (the catskills aren’t really mountains, technically) and just looking out over miles and miles of the country side.
i think because of that, if I could, I’d take a house back up state if I could. nice and big, somewhat away, but not too far from a town (woodstock for instance, is only about 10 miles, if that, from Kingston, a small city that had everything you really needed).
if i could have a second house, it’d be somewhere on the beach, because i’ve grown so used to the beach living on Long Island. Hell, I live less than 20 minutes from about 7 or 8 different beaches, about 30 or 40 minutes from 2 or 3 ocean beaches. upstate, well, there’s lakes, i guess…
can i have two houses and borrow one of dean’s helicopters as transportation…?

Just give me a Grand Cherokee!!!

What made you post the “GC” as a poll selection?

Well I guess I can start off by saying where I don’t want to live. Like I totally would NOT want to live in like the Valley anymore, for sure (sorry, had to get that out of the system.) It’s far too hot here and there are other things that annoy me. I’ve also lived in the midwest for 6 years and would not like to repeat that experience.
9 months out of the year I live in the Westwood/Brentwood/Bel-Air area and I love it there since there’s so much of the city life but the beach is so close too. So I guess my answer would be kind of like Sean’s by saying somewhere city-ish but close enough to the beach because there’s great weather and that’s also where I do my best thinking. However, I am impartial to what coast I am on for now; hopefully in a years time I’ll see if can cut it on the East coast.
::edit:: How come I don’t see the White House or somewhere on capitol hill as a choice? I would pick that.

Comon - who wouldn’t live in a Jeep? It has all the room you need (even if you have a little fun from town to town (http://smilies.jeeptalk.org/contrib/ruinkai/biggthumpup.gif) and you can stop and view the white house. Plus you don’t have to pay taxes or anything - just your gas. Just keep a fake insurance paper in your glove box - and make sure that you have the wrong state plate on - cops hardly give you a ticket when that happens… http://mysmilies.creativesell.net/contrib/blackeye/Monkey_wink.gif
Shore of Maine.
Anyone care to run away with me to there?

I’ll go…
In my Jeep Grand Cherokee!!
(I’m such a Jeep Dork…)
My summer home is in Cobden, ON. I love it on the lake front… but. it gets VERY buggy even if it isn’t hot and sticky. We still have some very hot days, but less than my home in PA. I really like the beauty and emptiness of PA. However, as above, it gets way to warm in the summer.
Personally, I would like a huge ‘fun house’ like Dean’s, or even one of those castle (the one in N. CA is quite snazzy). I would place it in Northern Canada or in the mountains in Maine. Alaska or the Arctic circle would be ideal, but a bit too far away.
Big house in the snow covered mountains! woohoo!

You can even build a special compartment in your Jeep for your segway.
