Zebra Technologies, in its continuing support of FIRST Robotics, is excited to announce the following locations have been confirmed as using Zebra’s MotionWorks based FRC RTLS system.
The Following Locations have confirmed with us its use:
I’m still hoping to see it come to MICMP for the finals field. Especially if there could be any integration into the TV Broadcast with graphics or something of that such.
For people wanting to start learning about MotionWorks, is this the most recent release of the data viewer? Will info about teams being able to access data be available anytime soon? Trying to get some idea of what will be available to teams during the event this year.
Yes, that is the latest though it uses last years field. We are working with TBA this season to provide something a little more robust and accessible. (IMO: Web based / api access > Windows application)
Not disagreeing, but having some easy to use the data through a standalone app, or something within Excel/Gsheets, would be great. Trying to interact with the TBA API through Gsheets has been less than stellar so far, so a standalone would really be nice.
We are looking at a small refresh to that application to support this years game. The .csv files would still be available on the PC provided that runs the system for the events use
MikLast:
Oh boy oh boy match heatmaps on stream here we come
I know PNW has done some great work with their AV equipment and would be happy to help where we can.
Once the TBA API is fully up and running with this new data model, and hopefully some real data to play with, I’ll try to get something going in Google Sheets. Remind me in a couple weeks if I forget to do it or post back.
I’m working on an application analyzing the Zebra MotionWorks data (improving on work from IRI and Chezy Champs, more details coming soon!) I can add a viewer to see the heatmap data as well.
TBA integration would be amazing! Do you have an ETA on when this feature will be ready, so I can start incorporating it into my work? No rush or anything
At this time the location data is not available to the field or drivers real time.
We push data up after we get the official match score. This year we are aiming to provide data to enable:
Enhanced streaming content (RSN IRI/CC style)
Empirical post match color commentary to expand the audience experience
New levels of insight for scouts and team strategies
