We are in a situation where we need to use a pulley wider than the belt going on it. We are wondering if this will be an issue.
That shouldn’t be a problem at all. If the belt is wider than the pulley then you will have issues!
If you post a picture of the mechanism you’re making, as well as the belt and pulley sizes, we could give more detailed feedback on any problems you may run into.
Not a problem. As long as the pulley is flanged (as all standard FRC pulleys are), the belt might travel a bit on the pulley but it should always maintain tension and never fall off the sides.
